Sightseeing in Rome
If you were to visit a city where you could see many historical monuments, where would it be? I guess your answer would be Rome. Rome is an ancient city, famous even before the time of Christ. Today, it is a modern city although it is filled with the breathtaking beauty of the olden days. People love this city because of all the sightseeing you can do here.
There’s the Colosseum, favorite destination of the tourists, no doubt about it. Here is where ancient Rome had their bloody fun, gladiators fighting for their lives, Christians persecuted and other activities that in today’s world would be deemed inhuman. But today, the Colosseum is used for better things.
During the early days, Romans also built a temple for all their gods, Pantheon. This structure is popular until now because it was greatly preserved after all these centuries. If you’re into Christianity, there are 19 basilicas to be visited here. The most famous though is St. Peter’s Basilica. This is the biggest basilica in the world, and it is located in the Vatican.
There is so much to be visited in Rome, even if you’ll stay here for a month, you’ll never have a boring time because of the sightseeing and activities you could do here.
