Driving? Easy! In France, maybe not! Driving is always difficult in a new place! What more in a country with a different language and culture of their own. If you’re determined to drive in France, here are some tips that will help you survive! Good luck!

1.    Be prepared- France is a big country and your driving hours may be long with a few breaks in between!
2.    Beware the toll- The tolls in France only accept payment from left-hand drive cars. If you’re in a right-hand one, make sure you have a passenger that can reach out the payment.
3.    Take breaks in the Aire- this is what we normally know as rest stops. There is food, fuel and some nice picnic benches that can be found in most of them.
4.    If you’re  disabled, pregnant or war wounded, you’ll be able to use the reserved parking slots. If you aren’t, don’t even try! The French take this very seriously!
5.    Don’t think of taking a drive on Bastille Day, that’s July 14th! You’ll be stuck in a traffic jam if you do, as everybody is out and about on this big holiday!

Other than that, happy driving!
